Whale Watching Trip

You can enjoy the trip with 100% safety on Boat “Prince of Mirissa”, a fully-fledged and equipped passenger cruiser with modern safety facilities onboard.
  • All travelers will be served free Packed Light Western Breakfast and Mineral Bottled Water, and on the way back, Fruits, and Snacks.
  • Tour starts by 6:30 in the morning from the Mirissa Fisheries harbor, so travelers are required to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance.
  • Whale Watching Tour normally lasts 3 to 5 hours.
  • Travelers are fully insured with Sri Lanka Insurance Board.
  • All passengers are required to wear life jackets available onboard during the trip.
  • No expectant mothers, kids below 3, and no pets are allowed to join the trip.
  • No travelers are allowed to get into the water and try swimming with the whales.
  • Travelers are advised not to use rubber slippers onboard but may wear shoes good for outdoor activities and sunglasses.
  • Some travelers may feel seasickness during the tour. Such travelers are advised to take sea-sick tablets at least half an hour before the tour starts. Standard tablets are freely available on board.
  • A full refund is made if the boat turns back due to any technical reasons on our side. No refund is made in case of no sightings. Depending on seat availability, a free ticket could be given on another preferred date. However, only Government tax should be paid by the travelers. No Boat fee is charged.
  • The Tour guide or the travel agent will be informed immediately in case of any emergency for a traveler.
  • We employ 2x captains with coxswain license and 4x experienced life guards with certification by Sri Lanka Life Saving Association. All of them have undergone First Aid courses by St John Ambulance Service.
  • We have also employed a Naturalist/ Commentator onboard with overseas working experience for a live commentary on the go.
  • We offer Standard Accommodation with breakfast for your drivers and guides free of charge and also safe parking.
  • Crew trained in the BLUE PRINT project is well aware of the rights of the whales living in their own natural habitat, so we strictly follow the International Whale Watching Guidelines & Best Practices in approaching the whales.
